The Museum of Tomorrow presents the exhibition CyberFunk: Technologies of a Rhythmic City in the Laboratory of Activities of Tomorrow. Curated by artist Pedro Pessanha, this exhibition projects a futuristic Rio de Janeiro, where sound and technology intertwine to create a vibrant and dynamic environment. The exhibition brings together artists Africanoise, Bernardo Pormenor, Escola de Mistérios, Gean Guilherme, Vicxs, as well as texts by GG Albuquerque, Obirin Odara and Rachel Oliveira Vieira. Divided into three thematic axes – territoriality, sound and fashion – in CyberFunk the public is challenged to embrace responsibility for our relationship with technology and its uses, moving hacking tactics and redirecting intentions, through the proposals of artists interested in researching ways in which our interaction with technical innovations influences our perception of time and territory.

Visitors are invited to participate in the GINGA project: art and technology workshops led by artists and the music collective and creative agency Escola de Mistérios. The exhibition questions how we can reinvent the use of technology, resist urban silencing through music and express identity through fashion.

Cyberfunk proposes to think about how the rhythms of the city raise fundamental questions for the coming years: how does the history of cities influence the existence of black bodies in the future? Can technology be a space for emancipation? How can the sounds of the black diaspora guide future collective constructions?
